During the Spring, Summer and the early Autumn months garden ponds may turn green due to the uncontrolled growth of algae. Algae can be a problem in ponds, normally manifesting itself as ‘pea green soup’. The algae can be produced by excess nutrients or from the build-up of organic matter.
